Course: Entree
Cuisine: American
Keyword: Italian Meatball Sandwich, Meatball Slider
Servings: 12 slider rolls
Cost: $15

Ingredients

  • 1 pack pre-cooked frozen meatballs
  • 1 12-pack slider rolls (we use King's Hawaiian Rolls)
  • 1 1/2 cups O Organics Tomato Basil Sauce
  • 6 slices Provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 pinch kosher salt (a scant 1/8 teaspoon)
  • shaved Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat grill to 350 degrees.
  • Thaw meatballs on the grill (or quickly in the microwave, per the packaging instructions)
  • Lay out the rolls on a baking sheet and slice them in half horizontally.
  • Place 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce over each roll, then place one meatball on each of the roll bottoms (12 meatballs total, for the total of 12 buns). Place 6 slices of provolone cheese so it evenly covers the meatballs. Top with more sauce. Place the top half of the rolls gently over the top of the meatballs.
  • In a separate bowl, mix melted butter with the granulated garlic and salt. Brush butter mixture over the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  • Place the baking sheet with the sliders on the grill and cook until warm and melted (8-10 minutes). Enjoy!

Notes

For the leftover lunch the next day: Thaw all the meatballs, even though you will only be using 12 for the sliders. You can use the remaining thawed and cooked meatballs for a quick protein packed lunch the next day.
